They weren't mean comments. You have to understand that deviantART has a strict policy concerning copyrights, and they wanted to warn you, asking you to remove them, otherwise the dA moderators would have done it for you. And you would have been madder at them.

The frontier between edit and theft is still very thin, one can think it's pure plagiarism while another will look at the creation side. We'll see
